Carly's son, Boston, was diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum when he was two years old. After studying the disorder I realized I had many of the same characteristics which had made me struggle and feel different my entire life. I hope to bring awareness and understanding about this growing diagnosis. I also hope to celebrate being different and treating others who may seem different as valuable member's of our society.
Carly developed anorexia nervousa when I was 12 years old and battled the disorder for more than 5 years. I hope to bring awarness of how the disorder can develop, particularly in pre-teens and middle and high school students and the dangers related to eating disorders. I also strive to bring hope that the disorder can be successfully conquered.
Carly battled selective mutism from kindergarten through 5th grade and also dealt with a fair amount of bullying. I hope to create more awareness of this disorder and more acceptance of people's differences. I also hope to inform parents and peers of how they can help those struggling with these issues.
Carly has always been little but can pack a punch! She has pushed forward through her challenges to have a successful career and family and hopes to help others who are struggling to learn they can end up on top and accept being different. Bio Carly graduated from the University of Utah in 2005. She has been a radio personality and news reporter with 101.5 the Eagle for the past 5 years and has been featured on several other radio stations in Salt Lake City. Her greatest joys are her husband JT, her son Boston, and her daughter Jocelyn.
