An acting career has provided Emily with the opportunity to play many different roles. She shares stories from those experiences and invites people to play their roles in life just as creatively! What does it mean to be a daughter, sister, brother, student, mentor, friend? In this talk Emily reminds you about your natural ability to play! She helps you identify which roles you play and how to play them full out!

Have you ever heard of Napoleon Dynamite? Emily feels very blessed to ride on the coattails of that world-wide success. She shares a story about when the author/director, Jared Hess, was asked, “What is the biggest lesson you learned from this experience?” He replied, “Never compromise your dreams.” She shares how Jared did not compromise that dream and how it paid off in so many ways. Emily loves to share stories of success, whether her own or someone else’s. These stories provide inspiration to succeed in the same way by dreaming great dreams and never compromising!

President Gordon B. Hinkley describes in his book, Way to Be, “We are not here on earth to see how important we can become, but to see how much of a difference we can make in the lives of others.” Who exemplified this best? Our Savior Jesus Christ. He is the light of the world. We can be a light for others by doing as He did. We can light the way for others by serving and loving one another. As Einstein said, “Light is only visible when it is actively moving forward!”

1 Timothy 4:12 invites us, "be thou an example of the believers in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." Emily relates her experiences with performing to the different situations we find ourselves in life. Have you ever noticed how some people act differently depending on their circumstances? 1st Timothy 4:12 leads us on a path to ask ourselves who we really are, children of God, and how we can be true to our core values in whatever circumstances life finds us.

Bio
Emily has been in numerous feature films, plays, musicals and performances. Those roles include Trisha in Napoleon Dynamite, Ruby in Pirates of the Great Salt Lake, and even Hannah Montana in the video game Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour for the Nintendo Wii. She also traveled to Brazil with Brigham Young University’s Young Ambassadors in 2003.
